This model is the original equipment tire of select BMW vehicles. The special tread pattern and the hybrid tire compound improve the summer weather road gripping ability and traction. As the tire maintains its road grip in dry and wet weather, it is safer to use in summer conditions. This model, however, is not meant to be used in winter weather, due to the compound losing its traction in the colder winter temperatures. The circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by evacuating water from beneath the tire footprint, for a safer wet weather traction.
