OVERVIEW

The Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 (OE) is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. It has some high performance sizes as well.

This model offers exceptional all weather road grip with its silica-enhanced tire compound. The tread design also contributes to the great traction, as the 2D Active Sipes Technology provides additional biting edges in rain and snow, increasing its versatility. By eliminating water from beneath the tire’s footprint, the tread grooves resist hazardous hydroplaning.

Michelin’s Comfort Contact Technology provides a more comfortable driving experience. It lowers the vibrations felt in the cabin of the vehicle as it maintains constant contact with the road. The noise-cancelling, computer optimized tread pattern helps lower the road noise.

The tire’s long lasting, even tread is the result of the special MaxTouch Construction. It divides the force of acceleration, braking and cornering equally across the tire’s road contact area, and forces the tread to wear out evenly as identical driving pressure hits every part. The tire’s even wear is also due to its reduced rolling resistance. The Green X Technology helps achieve that. The lowered resistance lessens the pressure on the tire, while also decreasing the vehicle’s fuel usage. This makes the tire more economic.

The Pilot HX MXM4 (OE)’s high speed stability is contributed to the BAZ, or Banded At Zero, Technology. This spiral wrap polyamide cord stabilizes the tire’s tread area and increases the steering responsiveness. The shortened steering response time combined with the additional biting edges of the model at cornering make the tire safer to use and the increase the quality of the drive.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
