Michelin Latitude Alpin LA2 Tire
Fusing great ride comfort, wintertime traction, and responsive handling. Designed for drivers of all-wheel drive crossover and sport utility vehicles driving in wet, snowy and icy road conditions, the Latitude Alpin LA2 is Michelin’s Light Truck/SUV Performance Winter/Snow tire.
It features Michelin’s Helio Compound 3G, the improved 3rd generation sunflower oil-enriched compound that is molded into a directional tread design. Adding the Helio Compound 3G to a continuous center rib with independent intermediate and shoulder blocks, the result is the perfect combination of stability on dry roads, greater resistance to hydroplaning on wet roads, and excellent traction in snow, slush, and ice.
The Latitude Alpin LA2 also showcases Michelin Stabiligrip technology. This technology has variable geometry sipes increase tread block rigidity to improve handling at higher speeds, while also delivering more biting edges for increased traction in wet and wintery conditions. Internally, a polyester cord casing increases ride comfort, while the twin steel belts fortified with spirally wound polyamide cord support the tread.
