OVERVIEW

The Michelin Latitude Alpin LA2 (N0) is a performance winter tire manufactured for select Porsche vehicle models.

The model is the original equipment tire of select Porsche vehicles, as indicated by the ‘N0’ marking. It went through rigorous testing to be accepted by the car manufacturer for use on its vehicles. The 0 means that the tire is in the first approved tire of this model to be the original equipment for the selected vehicle. The tire offers excellent and safe performing capability, while also being fuel efficient. This was achieved with the Total Performance Technology which provides high speed safety, durability and fuel efficiency, while not sacrificing the performance capability. The tire allows the vehicles to perform to their highest ability with ease, which is why it was chosen by Porsche for their models.

The tire has great winter weather traction. The silica-based Helio tire compound provides first-rate grip in all winter weather conditions. The model is marked with the tire’s industry’s thee mountain peak and snowflake symbol, which denotes that the tire is capable of handling the harshest winter weather. The circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by channeling water and slush away from the tread pattern. The better water and slush evacuation ability and the excellent snow and ice traction ensure a safe driving experience in all winter temperatures.

The tire’s ComfortControl Technology offers a comfortable and quiet driving experience. It provides a computer optimized tread pattern and precision manufacturing. The MaxTouch Construction was used in the manufacture of this tire. It provides an improved road contact area and a rigid tread block design to enhance the longevity of the tire. The rigid tread block sequence prevents the tread elements from shifting around during the drive, while the larger contact patch evenly spreads the driving pressure out across the tread area. The better distribution of the driving force and rigid tread blocks prevent irregular tread wear patterns from forming across the tread area, which shorten the tread life. In this manner, the model is usable for a longer period of time, which also increases the length of the tread life.

The Latitude Alpin LA2 (N0)’s firm tread design maintains constant road contact which improves the tire’s controllability.
