OVERVIEW

The Continental SportContact 6 (AO) is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This model is the original equipment tire of select Audi vehicles. This model is EV-Ready, meaning these tires are compatible with both electric and traditional vehicles.

The tire provides excellent summer weather traction. The model combines the asymmetric ribbed pattern and the Black Chilli compound to boost the dry and wet weather road gripping ability. The Micro Flexibility compound and the Black Chilli extract maintain the tire’s heat resistance in high heat summer temperatures. The optimized asymmetric footprint increases the grip on the road during the vehicle’s performance. The tread design’s circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning. These grooves channel water from below the footprint, further increasing the wet weather driving safety levels.

The model was designed for high speed performance. The tire combines the Black Chilli compound and the Aralon350 construction enable the tire to safely perform at its best high speed ability. The compound prevents heat build-up along the tread area during the high speed drive, while also optimizing the accelerating capability. On the other hand, the Aralon350 uses a new adaptive hybrid cap ply to maintain the ideal tire shape under the load pressure. This construction manages to keep the tire shape optimal at speeds up to 215 mph. This ply construction does not allow the tire to deform under the high speed pressure. This combination guarantees the driver’s full control over the vehicle throughout its best high speed performance.

The SportContact 6 (AO) utilizes the Force Vectoring to enhance the overall controllability. The optimized inner and outer tread pattern increases the surface contact throughout the drive, which boosts the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. The tread design’s Macro Block Design with the stiff center ribs and the asymmetric concave circumferential grooves improve the steering response time and accuracy, while also stabilizing against the driving pressure affecting the model. The Black Chilli compound and the Micro Flexibility Compound create friction between the tire and the road surface at the moment of braking. In this manner, the model significantly shortens the braking distance in both dry and wet weather situations. This promotes a safer high speed handling and performing ability.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
