Continental ProContact RX SSR OVERVIEW The Continental ProContact RX SSR (AR) is a touring, all season tire model manufactured for passenger vehicles. The tire is the original equipment tire of select Alfa Romeo vehicles.The tire offers excellent all weather traction and it grips the road well in dry, wet and winter weather. The tread pattern and the silica-based tire compound are the reason for its exceptional traction. The tread pattern’s circumferential grooves actively avoid hydroplaning by eliminating water from beneath the tire footprint. The better year round traction improves the tire’s safety in all conditions.The model is a run flat model. The Self-Supporting Run-flat technology enables the tire to be driven on after air pressure loss for 50 miles up to 50 mph. This allows the tire’s limited temporary performance once air pressure leaves the tire due to a damage. In this manner, the vehicle will not be stranded on the side of the road, instead, they will be able to safely drive to a nearby location, where the damaged tire can be changed or fixed.The tread pattern provides additional biting edges in all weather situations that create friction at the moment of braking. This shortens the model’s braking distance. The shoulder tread blocks maintain constant contact between the tire and the road enhancing the cornering ability and power.
