Michelin’s Studless Ice & Snow winter tire, the Latitude X-Ice Xi2, is created for the drivers of crossovers, vans, sport utility vehicles and light-duty pickups that desire an increase in winter driving confidence. The Latitude X-Ice Xi2 is designed to blend X-tra ice and snow traction with enhanced handling on wet and dry roads. Featuring Michelin’s FleX-Ice, the tire offers firmness at increased temperatures for wet/dry road stability while remaining flexible at lower temperatures to enhance packed snow and ice traction. FleX-Ice has a silica-based winter tread rubber compound that is molded into a directional tread design that increases water and slush evacuation to greatly reduce the chance of hydroplaning. Intermediate tread blocks along with an independent shoulder combines multiple micro-pumps and Cross Z-Sipes to deliver traction on ice and snow covered roads. The Latitude X-Ice Xi2 enhances high-speed capability with its twin steel belts that are reinforced by spirally wound polyamide cord.
