OVERVIEW

The Toyo Open Country A/T II Xtreme is an all terrain, all season tire manufactured for light trucks. Toyo offers a 50,000 mile tread wear warranty with light trucks sizes and a 65,000 mile tread wear warranty with P or Euro metric sizes of this model.

The tread design and the all season compound work together to increase the year round traction. The compound keeps its flexibility in colder temperatures as well, while the polygonal blocks and zigzag siping detail find firm grip on dry, wet and winter weather road conditions. The tread elements’ road grip does not loosen when driving on ice and snow, ensuring a secure year round driving capability. The wide groove design and the open shoulders actively resist hydroplaning when driving on-road by dispersing water and slush from below the tire’s footprint. In this manner, the tire ensures a secure all weather driving experience.

The tread pattern features large, staggered tread blocks, wide grooves, an open shoulder pattern and a detailed sidewall pattern. They enable the tire to conquer all soft, loose and uneven terrain surface conditions. The sidewall pattern increases the tire’s forward traction when driving in deep mud and loose dirt, in other words, when high flotation is needed. The tread grooves sport stone ejecting blocks placed in a sawtooth pattern in the tread grooves that keep the footprint clean. They disperse mud and snow and eject rocks stuck between the tread elements to ensure a constantly clean footprint and to prevent stone retention from harming the tire’s casing.

The maintained road contact increases the steering response time and accuracy and stabilizes the structure against the driving pressure affecting it. The tread also features tie bars that connect the individual tread blocks. This upgrades the braking capability by creating friction at the moment of braking, shortening the braking distance and ensuring exceptional driving safety.

The special tie bars that connect the tread elements also boost the tread life. They stabilize the tread elements and actively resists tread flexing. The prevention of tread flexing boosts the tread life and the tire’s usability by allowing the footprint to evenly distribute the driving pressure. The equally spread out forces of acceleration, cornering and braking actively resists the formation of irregular wear across the tread area.

The Open Country A/T II Xtreme ensures a quiet driving experience. The stabilized tread elements prevent tread shifting while the tires are in motion. As a result, the tire decreases the road noise heard in the vehicle’s cabin during the drive.
