OVERVIEW

The Bridgestone Ecopia EP500 (*) is a touring, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. This is the original equipment tire of select vehicle BMW models. The tire is designed to be mounted on the front axle position.

The tire was designed with Bridgestone’s ologic technology. This special technology manages to lower the tire’s rolling resistance and minimize the energy loss by combining a larger diameter tire with a narrow tread design. Such tires can have a stronger internal structure, which maintain their ideal tire shape, and their maintained road contact ensures even pressure distribution. This eases the driving pressure off the model and reduces the rolling resistance. The lessened rolling resistance in turn lowers the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, guaranteeing a fuel efficient and environmentally friendly driving experience.

The model ensures excellent summer weather traction. The summer compound and the asymmetric tread design work together to increase the model’s dry and wet weather performing capability. The compound avoids heat build-up and maintains the rubber flexibility in high heat situations, while the asymmetric tread with the narrow tread elements improves the tire’s grip on the road surface. The tread’s three circumferential and numerous lateral grooves improve the water dispersing ability. The better water channeling enables the tire to improve its hydroplaning resistance and wet weather traction.

The constant road contact of the flat footprint allows the tire to be easily controlled. The better contact between the tire and the road surface increases the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. This allows the tire to be quicker and accurate in its response to the driver’s commands, while it stabilizes the structure during the drive. The asymmetric tread’s ribbed pattern with the notch detail improves the braking capability. These tread elements create friction between the tire and the road surface at the moment of braking, which significantly decreases the braking distance. The shorter stopping capability enables the tire to upgrade its summer weather driving safety.

The Ecopia EP500 (*) increases the driving comfort levels. The flat footprint’s close road contact enables the tire to absorb the shock of driving during its performance.
